Netflix: Marley & Me (2008)

"A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his."

*sob* Seeing as I sniffled while reading the inside picture-place of this book, I kind of knew I'd cry during this movie. And cry I did. There were hillarious parts, and there were heartbreaking parts, and uplifting parts and Marley was such a lab. Oh man oh man. (Also, out of the city New York? Amazing. Always have loved the look of it and one day I would love to go there, to see the North Eastern country.)

Let's see, what happened today. Not much! I accidentally hit Chris with a rubber ball twice, once in the knee and once in the head. XD;;; Didn't mean to at all, really D:
We also all ordered lunch from Kozue's! It was wonderful! <3 <3 I had Polarbear rolls in the middle of the day! Felt very content and bloated afterwards X3 Also ate with Petunia and Lily, her older sister. They snuck into the kitchen sometime early in the day, pull down a bed, and fell to sleep. XD Lily stayed in there all day long, more or less, though Petunia went out when the balls were being thrown.

We had two trial-day dogs come in named Kody and Emma, sisters from the same litter, and oh man, did they look completely different. Emma is completely white, while Kody looks like a Border Collie with brown instead of the white. Shepherd markings. Super sweet, the two of them.

And it sort of drizzled today! Water came out of the sky! Didn't really do much for anything, but it was still nice. And now it smells humid outside~

Also, Mark and Patti bought Chris' house! My neighbor's house that is falling down, it's going to be gone! D:! Chris is moving out at the end of the month. I'll miss him. Am still very against Mark & Patti cutting down my two old cherry trees. Found out that they want to do it just so that they would have a view from their house. I adore Patti (don't know Mark too well) but I'm not letting you cut down my trees just so that you can have a view that you've never had before. *throws hands up and changes the subject*
And here, a meme to pass the time. Stolen from [info]angiechan070707~

01. Your Middle Name, or explain your Chosen Name: My middle name is Marr, my Mom's maiden name~

02. Mental Age: Um... twenty-two? I don't know D: I keep thinking I'm still twenty-two, but lo, I am not.

03. Single or Taken: Single. Always been single. 's alright, I think. (Kinda lonely sometimes, though, you know?)

04. Favorite Book: Toss up! First one that comes to mind is The More I See You by Lynn Kurland, though, but that's the book I always say is my favorite.

05. Favorite Song or Album: I keep listening to O.A.R's song "Shattered" and I don't know why. I like the sound of it.

06. What do you believe is your calling in life? Your greatest passion? Life and love~ Living things <3

07. What's your worst recurring nightmare/biggest fear? Being dropped into the deep ocean and having to swim back to shore. Thankfully I can breath water, or something, and so can swim really well, but they still make me nervous.

08. Faith, has you any? And if so, what, and if not, why not?: If any, probably Buddhism.

09. Do we know each other outside of LJ? Sadly, no.

10. What's your philosophy on life? Live and let live.

11. Is the bottle half-full or half-empty? Half-full.

12. Would you tell me something painful if it was in my best interest? I'd try and then be terribly nervous until I heard your response. I'm kinda like that. Y_Y;

13. What is your favorite memory of us? Meeting you online, methinks :3

14. What is your favorite guilty pleasure? Buying books online Y_Y;

15. Tell me one odd/interesting fact about you: I love finding music boxes and listening to them. Also, digging my toes in mud- good mud, mind you, none of that gritty stuff.

16. You can have three wishes what are they? A home out of the city with a bit of land and a dog; peace for my parents (no more back pains, no more house-money issues, more trips, etc.); I wish I could explore things underwater without needing to breathe air.

17. What is your favorite food? Mmmm much. Right now, okonomiyaki~

18. Which country is your spiritual home? Scotland, probably.

19. What is your big weakness? Animals and abandoned stuffed animals. Also, fish.

20. Do you think I'm a good person? I do~

21. What was your best/favorite subject at school? Art XD

22. Describe your accent: People in Seattle say that we don't have an accent but I think it's kinda a lie. People say I have an English accent a lot, though it's more of a mix then anything. I say things weird sometimes without meaning to.

23. If you could change anything about me, would you? I would make it so that you had no more money problems or worries <3

24. What do you wear to sleep? In the summer, a tank top and light pants. In the winter, a long tunic-like pajama top and long flannel pants.

25. Gender identity? Who knows.

26. Affectionate/sexual orientation? Again, who knows.

27. If I only had one day to live, what would we do together? Live it up~ XD

28. Will you repost this so I can fill it out for you? Done~ :3

Test Flights

Day 11, Test 37, Configuration 2.0. For lack of a better option, Dummy is still on fire safety. If you douse me again, and I'm not on fire, I'm donating you to a city college. Please don't follow me around with it either because I feel like I'm going to catch on fire spontaneously. Just stand down. If something happens, then come in.

I enjoyed that movie very much. It was very amusing and full of action and yessss. Also, hello Robert Downey Jr.
Also, my DVD player seems to think I am hard of hearing. (How did it know?)

Today was ... the same. Kind of. I got to work with Jen again as Amber was to come in late. Chris was working on the small dog area and in the front on accounts... so Jen and I had a fine time. Still some things that bother me, but oh well. Got to play with Atlas, the giant Great Dane puppy again <3 <3 and Zoey and the lot. And of course, my favorite boxer in the world, Cassius. <3
Also got to eat a nectarine today and it was wonderful *_*

Hmm hmm..
I fell to sleep after work and after my shower and woke up feeling kind of down. I had things I wanted to do this afternoon but I ended up sleeping instead. It just seems like life is sort of- I don't know, part of me wants to say "flat-lining" but that makes it sounds like death. So, it just seems kind of smooth. Smooth isn't bad it's just... who knows. Bah.

Tomorrow and Friday and then the weekend. We are off to Montesano for the weekend to eyeball furniture. We may or may not actually get our act together and bring some up. WHO KNOWS.
Friday I get paid! Woo! Need to remember to tell Todd how to spell my name correctly tomorrow 9_9;

Nothing really to say. I had a dream about an evil man who was shirtless and who's skin was blue (darker blue then Dr. Manhattan) and who had intense muscles. He released a bunch of hellhounds and it was my job to catch them all. It was kind of fun and very weird.

Also, I think I am getting either tanned or sunburned on my back from walking home. Oh great.

Sweet dreams~

Netflix: Hotel for Dogs (2009)

"If you look at it, dogs have three basic needs. That's- that's eatting, sleeping, peeing and pooping."
"That's four."
"No, I think peeing and pooping is one."
"Uh, I've stepped in both and I have to disagree."

Oh it wasn't the best of movies by a long shot, but it was cute. Kind of hurt my mind in many places just because I've been working with dogs for a month or so, but oh well. The three-legged pitbull that they saved from the animal patrol van made me cry ;3; The ending made me all wibbly, too. Bah.
And yeah, there be issues with it, but it was still rather cute.

Today, after work, [info]byakko_chan came over to drop off my new fish, Treasure <3 's a very cute, very small fancy goldfish <3 *glee* It was a good afternoon indeed~ Babbled at her about Nic Tse a lot YY;; (We're all kind of loving Treasure. Hehe. He has his own little tank for now, with a castle and a plant until we can find him a larger tank. :D)

Also got to talk to Patti for a little bit, too! Found out she's taken the corgis to Lucky Dogs for the self-wash. She's going to bring 'm in to get them groomed XD Got to get some love from Brutus and Ernie both and it was grand.

But I have to go to bed. Sleep well, dream dreams, see you in the morning~

Netflix: Luen oi hang sing (Tiramisu) (2002)

"Where are we going?"
"I don't know. As long as you're with me is enough."

I'll say it: this movie made me cry. And I ended up really, really adoring it. A story about a deaf delivery boy (Nic Tse <3) and a dancer, life, death, and love. It had funny parts, it had really sweet parts, it had parts that made me cry.... it also had a Dance Off. Haha. (A Dance Off with tap-shoes and Nic Tse taking his outter shirt off. Yes please :3)
Now I both want to find this movie and have Tiramisu.

These past days at work have been the same old, same old. I'm starting to really not like Tuesdays at work... they are always the most packed and is the day that all the fights start. It's weird. And this weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, and we are going to be packed to the gills with boarding dogs. To the extreme, for serious. I'm glad I'm not working this weekend D:
Groomerman thinks that my mom's job (interior plant specialist) means that she grows pot and that made me angry. Or irritated. Whatever. Groomerman also thought that I was not feeding the dogs their medicine (the ones that need it) and that it is my fault for the new rules of signing kennel cards after giving the pills. Hey, bugger, I've been giving that old dog her medicine every morning. I did not feed her over the weekend, when it is Todd's responsibility, so stop pointing fingers at me.

But whatever. I organized all of the dog files yesterday, too, because it was driving me nuts. The last person who filed those had no skills with letters and so nothing was in order... 9_9;;

And that storm yesterday! How awesome was that? :D Thunder and lightning and intense rain ahoy!

Netflix: The Pianist (2002)

"What is your name? So I can listen for you."
"My name is Szpilman."
"Spielmann? That is a good name, for a pianist."

Well, that was a miserable movie to be watching on such a beautiful day. Or ever. I guess I just never realized how miserable it was until I was sitting there with my headphones on and seeing it before my eyes. It was wonderfully done and Adrien Brody deserved that Oscar and it ended well, I guess, but quite the downer. But it's a war movie, of course it's a downer.
It was extremely emotional and graphic. Parts of it reminded me of Pan's Labyrinth in the way it did not censor anything. If someone is going to have their brains blown out, it's going to be on screen, etc. I kind of would like to read the book, see it that way, too. Hmm.

Other then that, I had a wonderful day yesterday. Woke up to the beautiful blue sky and the breeze and things were grand. Had dinner of teriyaki chicken with good friends out on the grass by Green Lake and then watched Wanted, which was silly. It was a great day, yesterday.
Today I woke up to the clouds. Breakfast was wonderful of eggs and toast and strawberries and whiskey cream. Oh yum. And the day has moved on like that ever since.

Happy Mother's Day~

Work in the morning. Then Castle finale. ;_; I get paid this friday, and that is a grand thing indeed~ But we are going to Walla Walla this weekend to go bird watching (bird watching? Oh my~) and I am leaving work early, so I might get my check on monday instead of friday. Oh well~

I had a dream that I was a stand up comedian at an Anime Convention that was doing "guess who I am" jokes in front of an amused crowd. (Hitler was sitting in middle of the front row, though, which was weird.)

Netflix: Australia (2008) (And Glee~)

"Let's go home."
"There's no place like it."

A long, dramatic, fabulous movie indeed, Australia. With a happy ending... and Hugh Jackman nearly naked. *thumbs up* I now have Somewhere Over the Rainbow stuck in my head, but that's not so bad. I am terrible at reviews, but needless to say, I enjoyed that movie very much. Just a long, beautiful movie with a glorious ending and lots of drama in the middle.

Other news!

I got mail today~ Well, no letters, but two packages. Both from Amazon... ahah.

Photobucket
Arlo Guthrie's "Hobo's Lullaby", which was stolen over the summer and which I grew up listening to a record and tape of, and my little DSLite.... Spring Edition!

Photobucket
The picture doesn't show quite how vibrantly, brilliantly green it is <3 It also came with the carrying case and the Cooking Game~ Woo! That will be interesting to play more with!

And when I got home after work today, I looked over at the vase where we had put the praying mantis egg sack. Have been checking that thing for weeks now and... well, surprise for me!

Cut for those who do not like crawlies or bugs~ )

Work went well, though it dragged like no one's business. For some reason my left foot and leg hurt like mad. I didn't do anything to them, so what gives?
Dog News: Baker, the big black lab/pit/who knows what else that got attacked by Sully last week, came in early this morning for bording as his owner is going into labor~! Congratulations to them <3 He was a lot calmer then usual, which was nice. Also, little man Cassius is getting neutered tomorrow. Hoho. Not going to be in for a bit, I'm guessing. Sonny & Calvin have gone home and Dante leaves tomorrow =\ We had a little pointer puppy in for her test day. She played like mad and did very well. Gracie also came in again <3

I need to stop sleeping in, seriously. I have woken up at my alarm clock each morning, but then turned off the sound and gone back to sleep. 9_9; Here's hoping it is just a faze, like it was in Alaska.

Found out today that we are not going down to Montesano this weekend. Woo~

It is still storming outside and I was rained on once more while walking home. Welcome to Seattle in the spring! (Also, we got those fancy pants "Bliss Chocolates" at work for customers. I found them after work today and am plotting on how to filtch more tomorrow because oh my goodness. D: )

Our garden is growing like mad and the irises are pondering blooming and it is wonderful.

Netflix: The Dark Knight (2008)

"Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair."

So we finally got around to watching The Dark Knight. I saw it while up in Alaska, but my Dad had wanted to see it and so I got it from Netflix. Still dark and filled with action and such... still leaves me feeling sad at the end. Ah, movies. Ah, Joker. Kinda makes me want to go watch the old Batman movies. Batman & Robin! Batman Forever! Yes. :3

Today was fine. A rough collie came in! <3 His name is Dante and I adore him. Todd and Groomerman were having fits because his owner just wanted him to have a bath, not a brushout and grooming done. Both of them wanted to brush him up and clean him up but seriously, if you think about it and have your hands on him you realize that Dante's owner must take him elsewhere to be groomed or does it herself because he is remarkably clean and with very few mats. So... who knows.
After reading the Albert Payson Terhune books, I've wanted to meet a collie for ages :3 And now I finally have~ A very sweet old fellow, he.

Dante!

Tomorrow I am off to give blood with my Dad. Need to remember not to let them try to talk me into giving blood with my left arm even if that is the better of the two.

I am very tired but I want to read! But no, sleep is best. And I get to sleep with my window open for the first night this year <3 I am very happy about this.

<3

Adds as an afterthought: I also rammed my left shoulder - my bad shoulder - into a metal eyelet that one could tie a dog to while cleaning out the kennels. Hell. I think I swore and I know I was kind of dazed for a bit. Now I have a nice sized bruise growing on my bicep and the inner workings of my shoulder have started hurting again. Damnit, it's been nearly two years! D: My right shoulder is bruised, too, from having Hound!Lucy jump up on me and rake her claws nails down my shoulder and back. My legs look like I've been mauled and I guess that's kind of true. Zeb's muzzle is hard as hell and he muzzle-punches everyone with it. My my. Now, off to bed!

Netflix: Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (1969)

"I have vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals."

... Oh. I have been told to see this movie since I was itty bitty because there was a music box in Grandma's guest room (the room I always sleep in when down there) that plays "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head". Kind of- oh that movie. Paul Newman & Robert Redford = Very awesome.

This day was pretty fine. Only downside was having a fight between Casper (the white boxer), Affrey (the old Golden Retriever) and Romeo (the white Scotty) on my hands. I swore a lot, broke them up and dragged Casper away. I couldn't put him in one of the kennels because all of them were filled with cleaning chemicals. Hell. So I stood with him, a good hold on his collar, and tried to calm my beating heart. Casper is a hell-hound, but he minds you. (He minds you without you having to throw him down and demand your dominance like what coworker!Emily thinks she needs to do with all.) In the end, no one was hurt though Casper had a scratch on his shoulder. Nothing bad. Things settled down for a while.

In the afternoon I got to meet my first Greyhound! And my first Whippet, too~

Photobucket
Her name is Georgia. I've never seen a Greyhound put their ears up before ^^ Very cute and silly looking. Her ears have tattoos in them, too, which leads me to believe that she is a retired racer and since been rescued and adopted out. I also never knew that Greyhounds were so soft. Goodness, it's like petting a rabbit or a Spaniel, but without the fluff. The little guy, there, is Elliot, her housemate; he's a Whippet and while soft, not as soft as a Greyhound~ I wonder if all Greyhounds are that soft? *_*

Photobucket
Georgie the fluff ball is still there, too. A poodle chihuahua mix. Goodness. XD

I am off to bed. Oh yessss.
Get paid tomorrow. Woohoo!

Netflix: Sabrina (1954)

"A woman happily in love, she burns the souffle. A woman unhappily in love, she forgets to turn on the oven."

Aah, Sabrina. A very sweet movie, and it ends well. It looks like it's not going to (though the romantic knows it had better) and it ends wonderfully. Ah <3 (And Humphrey Bogart~ And Audrey Hepburn~ Glee.)

We had tacos with avacado 'n beans 'n tomatoes for dinner tonight. Yum yum yum.

I think I will drink some tea and then go pass out and dream dreams~
Goodnight to you~

Netflix: Love Actually (2003)

"Option One: ask her out."
"Impossible."
"Fair enough. Option Two: become her friend."
"She's the most popular girl in school and she hates boys."
"Okay. Option Three: kidnap her and keep her tied up in your room until she agrees to marry you."
"It's a route I've considered."
"And quite rightly rejected on the grounds of..."
"Hygiene."

Cute movie. Laughed a goodly bit but- yes. Very cute~ (Ahaha! Finally, I have seen this movie.)

Today went like it usually goes. I learned a better technique of using the hose and have thought up better ways to clean the kennels in half the time. Shall try that out tomorrow. Also got bitten by Lukka, a large mixbreed who is boarding right now and hates it. He got out into the leashing area (again) and I tried to catch his collar wrong. It was my fault =\ I'm no worse for wear (I can't even tell where he bit me) and Tod showed me how to handle him better. (Of course, Tod also said that he thinks that Lukka doesn't like women. I think that's bullshit as Lukka and I were getting along very well earlier. :P)

I have also started to get sick. Damn. I can feel it creeping up my throat, and we are out of TheraFlu. Woes.

Oh that's right! Don't ask me why that reminded me, but I got to see Slumdog Millionaire last night with Katie and Emily~ Intense with a happy ending <3 <3 But yes, intense at parts. My. (Haha, another mark against the people who think it is a Bollywood film. It is not because it has a happy ending. XD)

I need to drink my tea and pass out. Hope you are well <3

p.s. And what's this I hear about it snowing today? Ah, Nature playing April Fool's Day, eh? I hope it was just a brief thing. Give me actual spring, damnit!

Netflix: The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green (2006)

"Leo, you know I'm a mess. I am destined to play "Dream Date" for the rest of my life and lose."
"Hey, there's one way to win the game, Ethan."
"What's that?"
"Stop playing."

Ahaha. That was a very silly movie. Made me laugh out loud many a time. It's sweet (not the sweetest movie I've ever seen, but it has it's moments) but more comedy then anything XD Gay-comedy, oh my. And I loved how it ended. A lot. <3

I really have to use the bathroom but it's a no go seeing as there is a man in there fixing up our bath/shower XD I could just go up the street and beg Patti but maybe later. *laughs* I'm sure you needed to read about that.

I had dreams about Alaska last night, I think. I'm not sure, though... but the hallways are lurking in the back of my head as are all of the people of last year. It's strange and- yes.

Tomorrow we get to take Suuki to the cat clinic for her check-up. That will be interesting~ She makes herself into a noodle and goes completely limp when she goes to the vets. Makes herself as flat as possible. ^^
Speaking of my cat, I got two not-so-great pictures of her last night. They're grainy as hell but I thought they were cute <3

Photobucket
She's silly. She doesn't like things on her, doesn't like being picked up, doesn't like all sorts of things at certains parts of the day yet if you pick her up and hold her close she purrs and purrs and purrs and doesn't try to get away. If you don't hold her super close she'll try to get away every time. And she seems to adore me only when she's been sunbathing and late at night. Any other time she looks at me like a wild strange person XD;

Photobucket
Kiss the paranoid cat with love~

I'm off~

Netflix: Casablanca (1942)

"And what in heaven's name brought you to Casablanca?"
"My health. I came to Casablanca for the waters."
"Waters? What waters? We're in the desert!"
"*sardonically* I was misinformed."

Hurrah, now I can say that I have seen Casablanca and have heard where so many quotes have come from. The "Here's lookin' at you, kid" and "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." and all. Ah, but I enjoyed it. I didn't know how it would end, but I liked how it did end. And I'll always have a little crush on Humphrey Bogart. I had never seen him act when he was younger. Woo!
I could watch that again, yes I could. XD (The main lady was kind of an idiot sometimes, but I guess I understand why~)

Other news, not much. Go download some songs. :3 I'll just sit here as I wait for Castle to start. XD

Netflix: Babettes Gæstebud (Babette's Feast) (1987)

"Now you'll be poor for the rest of your life."
"An artist is never poor."

An odd movie, but a good movie to watch. My parents enjoyed it very much and probably more then I did *laughs* But it was good if not a little odd. Just left me thinkin' it was odd.... hm hm. Still enjoyable~ Dad thinks it's like Chocolat, and I say not really. XD

Other'n that, not much has been happening today. I was woken up with my Mom telling me she heard me singing last night and that it sounded very nice. Note to self: when alone at night, sing quieter. Because thank you, thank you Mom, it's still kinda embarrassing, eh? Oh well. I had good dreams, too.
I had long dreams about old superheroes reuniting (and it was terribly sweet), sword fighting and laughing like a loon with Alicia and Emily and a big white Borzoi and collies and sheep in the neighborhood. And it was weird. But fun! And there was a weird credits section where four girls from earlier in the dream were all doing their hair up in a very coreographed dance with the "Working Song" from Enchanted played in the background. The one guy in the group just shook his head and kept moving.

And I keep thinking about that elevator dream from a few nights ago. Didn't think it a scary dream while dreaming it, but after the fact, yes... yes it was freaky. D:

Tomorrow we get to watch Casablanca and cry buckets? I do not know! Never seen it. Don't tell me. XD For now, I have Red Zinger tea and all is good for now. Here's hoping it will be for the days to come.

Hope you are well~

Netflix: Driving Lessons (2006)

"Remember I'm a poet, too, Evie; I understand the power of words."

It was a cute movie. The beginning was kind of slow, but we enjoyed it. <3 Very cute~ The main character, Ben, had one hell of a crazy mother. D: And there were some really sweet parts and some sad parts and some great laughs... and the scenery! They drove through the Scottish Highlands! <3!! Totally worth it if just for that XD And seeing his father finally take a stand. And the crazy guy they have in their house 'recovering' who ran over his wife and starts wearing Ben's mother's clothing. XD (It was really cute to see both Rupert Grint & Julie Walters acting together again~)

Next is Babette's Feast. It was supposed to be this week's movie, but ends up that they didn't have it at the closest Netflix station and so they sent Driving Lessons instead with a note saying that they were shipping Babette's Feast from another location. It should be here on saturday :3
Then it's Casablanca XD

Woo~

Netflix: Latter Days (2004)

"You want revelations engraved in gold and angels trumpeting down from heaven. What if this is it instead? Me telling you I love you, right here in the snow? I think that is pretty miraculous."

Oh, but that was a good movie. It was sweet, it had sexings, it had a crazy Mormon family + crazy Mormon "correctional institute" and it had a happy ending. ;_; Controversial because of the fact that it's about a Mormon Missionary named Aaron (Elder Aaron) and- and Chris, the party-animal who lives across the walk from him and the other missionaries. And they fall in love and there is drama and confessions and a pocket-watch and that happy ending I was talking about. ;_; I adored it. At last, a movie with a happy ending~

Other than watching that all bundled up on my couch with a hotpad on my hip I haven't done much. Oh, I inked a picture, but that's not much. I was told that Nick & the plumbers were coming back today early in the morning and that I would have to be awake and dressed.. haha. xD; So I fretted for most of the day as to when they were showing up but in the end it was okay.
Parents had to call them back because our shower wasn't working after they fixed our pipes. Ends up that it just wasn't turned on 9_9;; but then it also turned out that the faucet to fill the bathtub with was faulty and no good, so! They put a cap on it and will put a new on in when they come to put our wall back together in a spell.
Hurrah.

The Loaches have eatten all of the eggs XD;; I don't think they would have hatched anyways... they looked like they were rotting almost, kinda like uneatten betta food, you know? Little ball in the middle, cloudy puff around it? Yeah... So maybe they're both females. Who knows~

Tomorrow my Mom goes in for acupuncture for her shoulder. A new type of treatment! It's being done by my Dad's cousin's son's wife, Casey, who is awesome <3 So I hope that goes well.

I dreamed of the ocean, little creatures, swimming, and laboratories. It was puzzling. And I went to bed with my inner hip hurting like a beast. Woke up and it still hurt. *bitches and complains* Oh well~

That's that. Hope you are well.

Netflix: Priceless (Hor des prix) (2006)

"But charm is more valuable than beauty. You can resist beauty, but you can't resist charm."

Cute movie indeed. I felt bad for the people left behind, but for the most part it was a very amusing movie about a young, beautiful gold-digger and a bartender. Silly times, all over. XD

Today was enjoyable for the most part. Was woken up by my cat jumping on my chest and sitting on my arm, watching out my window. She had her front paws on my windowsill and kept turning her head this way and that and then ran off. I fell back to sleep, only to wake up again when she did it again. I petted her and looked at her in a daze. It wasn't another cat, I don't think, or she would have freaked out if I touched her. ^^;

Got up and got dressed. We were to have sort of company. The TV guy came and... yes, now we have DirectTV and I feel like we've gone down in the technology scale 9_9; I now have to remember a whole slew of other channels now *laughs* We watched an infomercial about back-support and then about a fancy sandwich frier. Woo.

After that, Mom and I went off to Swansons Nursery to take part in their bare-root sale. (Wanted to stop in and say 'hi' to m'friends in the area, but it was a no go TT; )
Woo Swansons~ In the end we bought a bag of soil, a hydrangia, and a fruity apricot tree. Hurrah! Got home to find Dad out in the front hacking at one of the bushes there (he seems to be getting sick again. Boo =\ ). We all tromped into the back and planted all of our new purchases~ We're getting a regular little orchard in the backyard now! *laughs* Just a pear and an apricot, but still~ Seeing as our orchard on the side yard is all either dying or sick, it's fun to see if we'll get anything from our new trees.
We also repotted my young cedar tree which had fallen over sometime earlier this winter and had broken it's pot. It had needed to be repotted anyways, but we didn't get to it for a long while. We covered it's roots as best we could, but one could tell that it was not doing so well. So it is now in a much larger pot now~ Here's hoping it does better!
We also repotted my little redwoods into a larger pot in hopes that they grow more as well. They've already doubled in size since last year. Makes me happy~

I have to start thinking about school again. Aah, boo. And I still need to write my resume. I don't know why it's bothering me so much, but it is. =\

Tomorrow, we may attack the old ivy on the hill in our backyard. The people up the hill dumped a lot of dirt on it, but that will never kill it. What we need to do is drag it all out and ... and do something with it. I want to put a garden there ^^; Right now it looks bare and dead. The entire hill thing looks bare and dead after the big maple died over the summer. We've been planting little things on it, but we really need to clean it up, take the old ivy roots out and give it a boost. We need to support that hill so that it doesn't come crashing down on our yard next time the landslides show up, you know? There are old trees there, but still. Also need to cut apart a tree the neighbors up the hill cut down and left. I feel bad for those people, their house burned down =\ Or it was gutted, at least. They finally moved sometime while we were gone and took their crazy cats (Big Purr & Little Sister) and their wonderful corgi/golden retriever mix, Cedar, away. But they left all their projects and they left all the dead trees, too. (They said they would take out the dead maple, but no go.)

Why yes, this was a very earthy post, wasn't it? Haha~

p.s. Oh yes, and we also went to the Northwest Flower & Garden show yesterday and had a ball. I don't remember if I wrote about that or not... I need to do something with all of the pictures I took. Ahaha. Oh improbable Gardens, you make me laugh. XD

Netflix: WALL-E (2008)

:Out there is our home - Home, AUTO! - and it's in trouble. I can't just sit here and do nothing. That's all I've ever done! That's all anyone on this blasted ship has ever done - nothing!"

Aww, WALL-E. ;_; <3
Oh man, I adored it. As in I don't want to return it, I want to watch it again and again. Aahh..

I saw Lizzy today at Kinokuniya's! :D
and I also got to see cousins/family people at a cousin party ^^ I finally met my Dad's cousin's son's wife, Casey, and she's amazing. They're so much fun~ Also got to see Molly, who I've known since she was itty bitty and who is growing up! It's odd to remember when she was just a little thing. She's a good girl~
And I got to play with their crazy little dog, Kiplan XD Such a fierce little hound.

I also got to see my dear friends last night <3 Potato chips, pictures, videos- wonderful times ^^

Mmm not much else to write about at all. 'm off to read~!

Man cheng jin dai huang jin jia (Curse of the Golden Flower) (2006)

"What I do not give, you must never take by force."

What an uplifting movie 8|
It was beautiful, this is true, but full of betrayals and back-stabbing (literally). But that's what the summary said, and... oh dear. Aaah, but it was very interesting to watch. Don't know if I really want to watch it again, but you know how it goes. Made me want to watch The Promise again. Ye Liu, Crown Prince Wan, was also in The Promise as the sort of evil-but-not-really-evil guy, Snow Wolf. Made me think of it ^^ Also, Jay Chou 83 We first saw/heard him on our trip to China. Didn't realize that he was in this movie, too, but lo and behold! I knew the second prince was familiar XD

Have to wonder. Are there any Chinese or Japanese action films that actually end well? Girl gets guy? Guy gets girl? (Guy gets guy etc.?) Because I can't think of any. Sort of spoilers for certain movies )

Aah, need to do some present wrapping. Yeehaw, I have something to do tonight! XD
And there is a sort-of pile-up at the corner in front of my house. Green jeep-type van pushed a wiring/heating-fixer-man's van into some bushes and there they sit. That tow-truck from earlier showed that there is no way that those cars are going to be moving any time soon. 9_9; And my neighbor Daug keeps creeping around the neighborhood, eyeballing the cars and just standing in the shadows on the street corners. Creepy. Go to bed, Daug. Stay.

But for now, tea!

Netflix: A Day at the Races (1937)

"Don't point that beard at me! It might go off!"

Ahaha. The Marx Brothers are hillarious. Harpo and Groucho and Chico~ Ah, wonderful times. Old movies are awesome sometimes. (It's also interesting to think that though these movies are in black and white, the actors still saw colors that are just as vibrant as the colors we see)
I sided with Mom and I like Harpo probably the most XD Quickly followed by Groucho and his funny mustache + awesome walk.

Arts. I haven't drawn in ages. Yeek.

Also, I am beginning to worry that I'll never find my Kingdom Hearts II or The Promise ever again =\ I really rather worry that they were swiped when the burglars swept through our house over the summer. (Though why they didn't take my old PS2 or the Wii I'll never know...) Makes me bummed, but I'll be looking more and more... =\

Tomorrow, I give blood. Yeehaw.

Netflix: Emma (1996)

"Oh, but if he seems happy, I will know that he's decided to marry Harriet, and I will not, I know I will not be able to let him tell me. But if he seems sad, I'll know that John has advised him against it. I love John! Or he may seem sad because he fears telling me he will marry my friend. How can John let him do that? I hate John!"

Hah. Fun, long movie, that. Oh Emma, you are a tricky, dramatic lady. Makes me want to watch Pride & Prejudice again XD; But no, it was enjoyable and silly and yes~ <3
Aah, but I'm tired so no long-winded babble for you.

You poor birds. Three posts in a day, forgive me XD; I'm trying to stop myself from babbling at Twilight fans on DeviantArt. Don't do it, Kate! Don't do it! XD Mainly just "WTH Forks?" and the whole "What do the vampires in Denali do in the summer time when it's daylight all the time? Land of the Midnight Sun, yo." but no. XD

Loaches are finally sort of settling down <3 Luna calmed down and Tenki's flitting around somewhere I cannot see. (Eee Luna just yawned <3333 cutest thing a loach can do <3 *fish babble/love*)

Okay, I'll leave you be. ^^;
